As we bid farewell to a presidential campaign season that saw unprecedented overt calls to misogyny, racism, and bigotry, we see the unsurprising beginnings of an administration that will be defined by hate: a white nationalist named chief strategist in the White House, a registry for Muslim-Americans, and a callback to the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII as a “precedent” for Trump’s administration.

This nightmare is very real.
